Designing and running an incubation and acceleration programme to strengthen the capabilities of social entrepreneurs

We designed an incubation and acceleration program for social entrepreneurs and NPOs spinning off social entrepreneurship activities in Indonesia, Tanzania, and Kyrgyzstan.

Challenge

  • Absence of enough social entrepreneurs with mature projects ready to receive funding

  • Need for support in refining their model and scaling up their operations

Approach

  • Co-development of the social incubator program, drawing from local and international world-class trainers, mentors, and speakers

  • Program rolled out in Indonesia, Tanzania, and Kyrgyzstan

Outcome:

  • Successfully launched the program with hundreds of entrepreneurs

  • 20 were shortlisted for phase 2

  • 3 were finalists that received further funding
