We developed the strategy for a foundation based in Saudi Arabia established under a ministry and focusing on preserving and developing vegetation cover, reducing land degradation, preserving biodiversity, and minimizing the effects of climate change.
Challenge:
Nascent social sector environmental ecosystem
Fragmented efforts from the private, public, and social sectors
Limited coordinated efforts across agencies
Approach:
Engaged key local stakeholders in non-profit sector, government agencies, and corporations
Interviewed international organizations based in Denmark, Netherlands, Malaysia, and India to build a powerful benchmark
Developed over 30 possible initiatives to comprehensively develop the ecosystem
Outcome:
Developed the foundation’s strategy in collaboration with its management team which is aligned with national goals and supports the development of the non-profit ecosystem
The foundation is successfully established and gradually rolling-out its strategy to strengthen the environmental ecosystem in Saudi Arabia.
