Dr. Abdullahi Saliu Ishola
Dr Ishola obtained his Bachelor degree in Sharī'ah and Common Law from University of Ilorin, Ilorin-Nigeria where he graduated in 2005, winning two of the prestigious University Senate Awards for the Best Graduating Students from the Department of Islamic Law and Department of Public Law, respectively.
He thereafter proceeded to the Nigerian Law School Abuja (2006-2007) and was called to the Nigerian Bar in May 2007 as a Barrister and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Nigeria.
Dr Ishola obtained his Masters degree (LLM) in 2011 in Islamic Law from the same University of Ilorin.
He bagged his PhD (Law) in 2018 from International Islamic University Malaysia where he researched on the Waqf law. Thus, he became the first Nigerian Lawyer to obtain a PhD in Waqf Law.
Dr Ishola has more than two decades of experience in the practice of law and Shariah as a Barrister and Solicitor and has since 2012 been in the academic services of Kwara State University, Malete-Nigeria where he currently is a Senior Lecturer at its Department of Islamic Law, Faculty of Law; and has been given an Approval In Principle (API) as being promoted into the rank of an Associate Professor with Specialisation in Islamic Social Fiance Law, Practice and Justice (a field of expertise covering Zakāh, Waqf, Sadaqah, Mīrāth, Wasiyyah, Hibah, etc).
Professionally, Dr Ishola, in addition to being a Barrister and Solicitor, is a Certified Registered Teachers with the Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria (TRCN); an AAOIFI Certified Shari'ah Advisor and Auditor (CSAA); a CIBAFI Certified Islamic Specialist in Sharī'ah Adulting (CISSA); Certified Cooperative Entrepreneur (Cert. Ent-Coop).
He is a Fellow, Institute of Islamic Finance Professionals in Nigeria (FIFP) and an Associate Member (ABR), Business Recovery and Insolvency Practitioners Association in Nigeria (BRIPAN).
Practically, Dr Ishola has initiated many projects and consulted in various areas of Islamic Social Fiance to Individuals, Corporate Institutions and Government Agencies.

Dr Ishola has consulted in Waqf matters for Sokoto State Government through its Agency, Sokoto State Zakat and Endowment (Waqf) Commission (SOZECOM), now called Sokoto State Zakat and Endowment (Waqf) Agency (SOZEA); Z&S Waqf Foundation, Lagos State; Jaiz Charity Foundation, Abuja; Zakat and Sadaqah Foundation, Lagos Nigeria; Islamic Revival Organisation (IRO), Ilorin, Nigeria; North-Eastern University, Gombe, Gombe State - Nigeria; Energe Networks, Malaysia.
Dr Ishola is a prolific writer and a seasoned researcher who has published wide in various areas of Islamic Social Finance Law and Justice, especially on Waqf. He has over forty publications to his credit.
